Neff Press provided a MetalBrik machine that handled problematic copper and brass material which couldn’t be condensed for remelting due to a wide variety and shape of the metal chips. Tests with other briquetter manufacturers resulted in jams and bridging of the material. Our unique inclined auger system and self-lubricating dual compaction briquetter resolved the issue they were having with their current baler.
Overall throughput, coolant recovery, and yield of material increased during the briquetting process. Our MetalBrik unit was designed and built with a custom chip hopper and feeding unit that allowed problem-free feeding of 100% of the chips produced.
High maintenance costs on the baling system were eliminated and the brass foundry was able to substantially reduce labor on the chip handling system due to the automated MetalBrik briquetting operation.
