The ASSEMBLY Show 2019 was a fantastic few days for Neff Press—and we were thrilled to be part of it. From October 22–24 in the Chicago area, our team welcomed manufacturing professionals to booth 2048 to talk presses, forming, and the assembly challenges keeping engineers up at night. Now in its seventh year, The ASSEMBLY Show is the only major trade event devoted entirely to assembly technology, and 2019 proved just how much that focus matters. More than 5,000 manufacturing professionals filled the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, with roughly 7,400 registered from across the U.S. and around the world. On the floor, 308 exhibitors spanned about 86,800 square feet—and 80 percent of them renewed their booths on-site for 2020, a strong vote of confidence in the show.
The attendee roster was exactly the crowd we come to meet: engineers and buyers from companies like AGCO, A.O. Smith, Briggs & Stratton, General Motors, Fiat Chrysler, Lockheed Martin, and Magna International. When that much manufacturing horsepower gathers under one roof, the conversations get real—and productive.
Assembly is right in our wheelhouse. Neff Press has spent more than 60 years building American-made hydraulic presses, with over 13,000 active in plants across the U.S. and overseas. At the show, we loved talking through how our presses handle demanding assembly and press-fit work with the accuracy those jobs require.

Opening workshops on “The Factory of the Future” and the shift from manual to automated assembly drew big crowds, editors led guided tours across the floor, and a standing-room-only keynote from Ford’s advanced manufacturing team explored how connected, intelligent processes are reshaping the industry. The “Product of the Year” showcase rounded things out with the latest in robotics, fastening tools, conveyance platforms, and more. It’s the kind of forward-looking environment where a dependable, precision-built press proves its value as the backbone of it all.
