Neff Press Begins a new Defense contract for Explosion-Proof Powder Compaction Press

Neff Press has begun engineering work on a custom 40-ton, four-post hydraulic press for the defense dept. The system is being designed for an automated powder compaction application and will incorporate feed automation to support controlled material handling throughout the process.

Because the press will operate in a hazardous environment, its design includes requirements relevant to NEC-defined Class I, Division 1 and Class II, Division 1.

Neff Press has also completed a detailed hazard analysis of the powder compaction process and the environment where the press will be installed. That work helps guide the design of the press, automation, controls, electrical equipment, and system interfaces from the earliest stages of engineering.

Neff Press engineers custom hydraulic press systems for demanding powder compaction and defense manufacturing applications, where reliable equipment and careful hazardous-location engineering must work together.
